Smooth Your Scars: Try a Vampire Facial to Enhance Skin Tone, Color

Ever wished you had the youthful glow and flawless face of supermodel Gisele Bundchen or reality star Kim Kardashian, but think it’s only possible with synthetic fillers or surgery? You don’t need to live someplace trendy like California and make millions of dollars to achieve better skin tone.

While these celebrities famously underwent a Vampire Facial® at ritzy high-end spas and showed off the results to their millions of followers, it’s an all-natural medical spa service we regularly perform at Synergy Spa of The Guyer Institute in Indianapolis.

We’re one of only a handful of providers in Indiana certified to offer the trademarked Vampire Facial along with other Vampire procedures, which means we only use FDA-approved equipment and are specially trained in the advanced skin rejuvenation technique.

“We’ve undergone specific training for the Vampire Facial with Dr. Charles Runels, the inventor of the Vampire procedures,” says Synergy Spa CEO Denise Kaler. She’s had the Vampire Facial performed on her face, neck and décolletage, and says she loves seeing the immediate results of smoother, more radiant skin.

What is a Vampire Facial?

The Vampire Facial combines Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and microneedling to give our clients a youthful skin tone and improved color. It’s also great for smoothing out skin that’s scarred by acne or injury, and for reducing fine lines. This specialized PRP treatment is performed in our office by a skilled Physician’s Assistant or Registered Nurse in under an hour, with no recovery time necessary.

To begin the facial, our licensed P.A. or R.N. draws a small amount of the patient’s blood, which is placed in a centrifuge to separate out the plasma. Numbing cream is applied to the treatment area before microneedling begins to minimize any discomfort.

The PRP works to regenerate skin by recruiting stems cells from nearby bone marrow that release active growth factor. Those stem cells mature into collagen, nerves, tissue and blood vessels to give the treatment area a revived look and softly fill channels in the skin. As the body works to heal what it perceives as injury, a client benefits from a natural boost in collagen production and blood flow to correct tell-tale signs of age like a grayish skin tone and wrinkling under the eyes.

Directly after the facial, we ask that patients let the PRP remain on the face for five hours. After that, they can rinse with warm water and use sunscreen or makeup at their leisure. Effects from the Vampire Facial are noticeable right away, but the skin’s appearance continues to improve the next six to 12 months as new collagen and elastin develops.

For patients who seek significant results in improved skin tone, color and texture but aren’t quite ready for fillers or surgery, we recommend scheduling a series of Vampire Facials, receiving at least three PRP treatments at six-to-eight week intervals.

How Safe is a Vampire Facial?

By tapping into the power of the body’s natural healing process and using a patient’s own biological material, PRP treatments are very safe overall.

supermodel GiseleA Vampire Facial is the perfect solution for someone who wants to avoid synthetic fillers, and it’s completely safe for all patients. So safe, Kim Kardashian got her Vampire Facial while pregnant, although that also meant she had to forgo any numbing medication. Gisele’s known for her organic approach to beauty and wellness, so she opts for the all-natural treatment over more drastic approaches to maintaining her youthful skin.

What’s the Difference Between Vampire FaceLift and Facial?

At Synergy Spa, we offer many different Vampire treatments, including Vampire Hair Regrowth®, Vampire Breast Lift® and Vampire FaceLift®.

The Vampire FaceLift takes the Vampire Facial one step further by adding a filler such as Restylane to the beginning of the facial process. Injected into targeted areas by either our medically trained P.A. or R.N., the filler helps to reshape the face with natural results by lifting sagging or droopy skin. The filler is followed by microneedling with PRP.

While a Vampire Facial is an excellent way to boost your skin’s color and smooth its texture, it will not do much to change the shape of your face. A Vampire FaceLift gives patients a nonsurgical and natural way to tighten loose skin and fill in sunken areas that are inevitable as we age, as well as the color and texture improvements the Vampire Facial delivers.
